Carquefou

Carquefou is a commune in Loire-Atlantique, on the northeastern edge of the Nantes metropolitan area. Once a small rural parish of around 3,000 inhabitants in the 1950s, it has grown to roughly 21,000 today as part of Nantes Métropole, while keeping its own identity along the Erdre river and its mix of woodland, châteaux estates and quiet residential neighbourhoods. It is well connected to the centre of Nantes and serves as a calm base for visitors exploring the Erdre valley and the wider Loire region.
