Frequently asked questions.
The handful of questions our members write to us about most often. If the answer you need is not here, our concierge team will be glad to write back personally.
How much does a luxury villa rental cost per week on Rivage?
Weekly rates on Rivage typically range from around €8,000 for a smaller villa in the shoulder season to €120,000 and beyond for a signature seafront estate in peak August. Most family-sized homes in Provence, Tuscany, or the Balearics fall between €15,000 and €40,000 per week, all-inclusive of housekeeping and concierge.
What is included in a Rivage villa rental?
Every booking includes full housekeeping during the stay, fresh linens and towels, a welcome pantry on arrival, and the attention of a dedicated concierge for the duration of the stay. Chef, chauffeur, in-villa spa, boats, and event production are arranged individually and billed separately.
Where does Rivage operate?
Rivage curates villas across the Mediterranean basin — France (Provence, French Riviera, Corsica), Italy (Tuscany, Puglia, Sardinia, the Amalfi Coast), Spain (Mallorca, Ibiza, Menorca), Greece (Cyclades, Ionian), and a small selection in Morocco. We do not yet operate in the Caribbean or Asia.
How do I book a villa with Rivage?
Enquire from any villa page or write to hello@rivagevilla.com with your dates, party size, and preferred region. A concierge replies within the working day with an availability check and a written quote. There is no instant book — every reservation is hand-arranged so terms, services, and special requests are confirmed before payment.
When should I book a villa for the summer in the Mediterranean?
For July and August stays in prime regions (Saint-Tropez, Mykonos, Ibiza, the Amalfi Coast), we recommend booking 6 to 9 months in advance. Shoulder-season weeks (May, June, September) can often be confirmed 8 to 12 weeks ahead. Last-minute availability appears in our flash deals.
What is the cancellation policy for a Rivage villa?
Cancellation terms are set per residence by the owner and confirmed in writing before payment. As a guideline, most houses follow a 60-day full-refund window with sliding penalties closer to arrival. In exceptional circumstances, our concierge mediates with the owner to find an equitable solution.
Is membership required to book a Rivage villa?
No. Rivage is open to guests and members alike. Membership exists to give a small group of friends early access to new houses, private events, and access to the full depth of the concierge service. The same residences and rates are available to non-members on request.
Are pets allowed in Rivage villas?
Some houses welcome well-behaved dogs; others do not, often because of fragile interiors or shared estates. Tell us about your companion when you enquire and we will match you with a residence that will receive them well. Cats and exotic pets are considered case by case.
How does Rivage select its villas?
Each house is visited in person by a member of our team before it is listed. We look for editorial quality (architecture, light, the feel of an afternoon), operational reliability (a present owner or manager, a working kitchen, a credible team on the ground), and a sense of place that cannot be reproduced by a checklist.
Can Rivage organise a chef, driver, or boat for the stay?
Yes. Our concierge arranges private chefs, sommeliers, in-villa spa treatments, drivers, day-skippered boats, and full yacht charters as part of any booking. Requests are best made at the time of enquiry so the right people can be reserved before they are booked elsewhere.
What is the best Mediterranean destination for a family villa holiday?
For families, Provence and Tuscany are the most forgiving — short flights, mild climate, walkable villages, and houses sized for multi-generational stays. The Balearics suit families with older children who want sea time. Greece is best from late May to late September. Avoid peak August in Saint-Tropez and Mykonos with very young children.
How is Rivage different from Airbnb or other villa rental platforms?
Rivage is editorial rather than self-service. Every residence is hand-selected and visited; there is no instant book; pricing is weekly and includes housekeeping and a concierge as standard; and a single team manages the booking, the welcome, and the stay end-to-end. The catalogue is intentionally small (a few hundred houses) rather than open-listing.
