Spring
Spring in Tuscany is when golf takes its full landscape dimension. From April to June, temperatures rise from 16°C to 24°C, hills turn green, and courses regain their splendour. Castiglion del Bosco (Brunello), Tom Weiskopf signature, offers fairways winding between cypresses and vineyards. Argentario, on the Tyrrhenian coast, offers golf facing the sea. May and June offer the perfect equation: ideal technical conditions, Tuscan landscapes at peak, seasonal gastronomy. Rivage villas in Tuscany offer their best year-round rates before summer high season.
Summer
Summer in Tuscany is festive but demands strategy for golf. From July to August, temperatures climb (28-35°C), and tourist crowds peak — particularly around Ferragosto (August 15) when part of the courses and restaurants close. Favour dawn tee-times (6:30-9am) and enjoy villa pools in the afternoon. Off-golf compensation is exceptional: cantine visits, outdoor gastronomy, day trips to the coast (Argentario, Maremma). Rivage villas with pools offer essential comfort.
Autumn
Autumn anoints Tuscany as one of the world's most beautiful golf destinations. From September to October, conditions align: mild temperatures (18-24°C), courses in autumnal splendour, Sangiovese and Brunello harvests in full activity, Tuscan light at peak. October is probably the most photogenic month: foliage turning, first white Alba truffles (from neighbouring Piemonte), game and cep gastronomy. Rivage villas in Tuscany with terraces offer this season the luxury of watching vineyards from home between rounds.
Winter
Winter in Tuscany isn't the golf season: 5-10°C average, morning frosts, courses dormant. It is, however, the season of exceptional gastronomy (white Alba truffle, game, ceps), Christmas markets in Florence and Siena, Viareggio carnival in February, and private tastings with winemakers available this period. Rivage villas in Tuscany with fireplaces offer a unique intimacy this season.
