Spring on Île de Ré opens the kite season with accessible conditions. Steady thermal winds, water rising above 16°C in May, absent crowds. Schools reopen at La Couarde, Loix and Le Bois-Plage. 4/3 wetsuit then 3/2. Rivage villas offer their best rates.
Summer on Île de Ré combines kite and Ré art de vivre. From June to August, afternoon thermal winds, water at 19-21°C, family beaches. One of Europe's most complete destinations for a family kite trip. Lesson booking essential.
Autumn anoints Île de Ré as an ideal kite window. September and October offer more sustained winds, still-warm water, thinning crowds. Perfect season for technical progression.
Winter on Île de Ré isn't the kite season. For a visit, enjoy the island's art de vivre: year-round restaurants, cycling through pines, gastronomy.
