Spring
Spring at La Rochelle is when France's great sailing capital wakes up. From April to June, schools reopen, first deliveries leave, water rises from 12°C to 19°C. May and June offer the best conditions to combine learning and discovery of the pertuis. Rivage villas near the Vieux-Port or on the islands offer their best year-round rates.
Summer
Summer at La Rochelle is festive and nautical. From June to August, thermal winds make afternoons ideal for navigation, water reaches 21°C, and cruises to Ré, Aix and Oléron are at their peak. The Vieux-Port comes alive, Francofolies (July) add a festive dimension. Rivage villas offer an exceptional setting.
Autumn
Autumn anoints La Rochelle as a major sailing destination. From September to October, the Grand Pavois (international boat show, late September) attracts the whole industry, technical conditions are excellent, crowds thin out. For sailors booking a Rivage villa, the most complete season.
Winter
Winter at La Rochelle is a sailor's season. Storms, formed sea, little pleasure boating. For most, enjoy the off-water riches: Aquarium, Vieux-Port, Atlantic gastronomy, day trips to Île de Ré. Rivage villas with fireplaces offer a unique intimacy.
