Spring
Spring at Mykonos is, for sailing, an often-neglected but magical season. From April to June, temperatures rise from 17°C to 24°C, meltemi isn't yet established, and crowds are absent. The ideal season for family Cyclades cruising: navigation to Delos (legendary archaeological site), Tinos, Syros, Naxos. Water rises gradually from 17°C to 22°C. May and June offer the perfect equation. Rivage villas in Mykonos offer their best year-round rates before high season.
Summer
Summer at Mykonos means meltemi — the powerful north wind that makes the Cyclades' reputation for sporting sailing. From July to August, winds blow steadily at 20-30 knots, sometimes more, creating exceptional conditions for intermediates but more demanding for family cruising. For intermediates, it's the royal Cycladic sailing season. Rivage villas with direct sea access offer an exceptional setting.
Autumn
Autumn anoints Mykonos as one of the Mediterranean's most beautiful sailing destinations. From September to October, meltemi eases (15-25 knots in September, more measured in October), crowds thin out after August 25, water still at 22-24°C. The ideal season to combine navigation, Cycladic gastronomy, and island art de vivre in a regained atmosphere.
Winter
Winter at Mykonos isn't the sailing season — strong north winds, lows, formed sea. For a visit, enjoy the island off-tourism: restaurants open for locals, Cycladic landscapes in their most authentic version. Rivage villas reveal a unique intimacy this season.
