Ribérac
Ribérac is a small market town in the Dordogne, set on the banks of the Dronne river in the gentle landscapes of the Périgord Vert. With about 3,700 inhabitants, it has been the administrative centre of its district since the late 18th century and grew up around a medieval castle on the hill that now holds the cemetery. The wider area is known for its Romanesque churches, Cretaceous limestone plateaux and quiet river valleys, and was the birthplace of the Occitan troubadour Arnaut Daniel.
